How are Ss finding success (seeing themselves as knowers and doers of mathematics) in the first 10 min. of class? It's not a list of activities to do, it's a belief.

Instead of a card sort, we tried something different in Math 7. We played "Is it a proportional relationship?" (kids love a good game!!)
It went over really well with great discussion and visible thinking.

When using Error Analysis problems, instead of asking "Identify the mistake and fix it."
Ask, "Identify the mistake and the thinking that led to that misconception."
