Weight gain is a major problem in people on anti-psychotic medications (eg. for schizophrenia, bipolar or related disorders) All major trials have excluded people on anti-psychotics Semaglutide is the best available agent for weight loss for managing anti-psychotic induced weight gain (AIWG) Semaglutide on an average causes >7kg weight loss over around 6 months of clinical use in them (data from >40,000 patients use). Semaglutide is safe & well tolerated for managing AIWG This weight loss is much lesser as compared to use of semaglutide in "essential obesity" Details at: journals.lww.com/indjem/full… @IndiaESI @Rssdi_official @j_metb @SchizophreniaCa @PsychiatricNews @PsychiatristCNS @PsychTimes @psychiatry_ucam @psycheureka @BipolarUK @teamnovonordisk @novonordisk @novonordiskus @NovoNordiskLive @NovoNordiskIN @ScienceCluster @NovoNordiskSA @SunPharma_Live @LupinGlobal @drreddys @APApsychiatric @JAMAPsych @KingsIoPPN @MedscapePsych @ColumbiaPsych @TheAACE @TheEndoSociety @ICMRDELHI @CSIR_IND

7/This renewed & massive interest in obesity can also be found in the exponential growth of investments made by venture capital firms. According to @Stifel’s 📊 - VC investments are up x10 between 2019 and 2024 - with some investments up quite substantially from previous years.
