Led by Professor Ali Trabolsi, the team has developed a groundbreaking orally administered insulin platform from their Chemistry department.🔬Backed by multiple patents and strong preclinical results, this technology could redefine how millions manage diabetes — replacing daily injections with a non-invasive, patient-friendly alternative. 🧬 Our conversation focused on the road ahead: commercialization strategy and clinical development pathways to take this innovation from lab to patients. Two next-generation agricultural bio-solutions—AphidControl and XanthoControl—have been successfully transferred to PI Industries Ltd by Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) under the ‘Transforming Deep Science Discoveries into Impactful Innovations for India’ initiative, supported by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India. The announcement was made during an event held at the Office of the PSA, New Delhi, in the presence of PSA Prof. A.K. Sood, Dr. Kris Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, Pratiksha Trust. Speaking at the event, Prof. Sood, emphasized the role of the C-CAMP (Discovery to Innovation Accelerator) DIA programme in fostering industry-driven innovation and bridging the gap between research and commercialization. Dr. Gopalakrishnan, underscored the importance of translating scientific discoveries into real-world impact and positioning India as a global bio-innovation hub. Dr. Mohanty (Adviser, Office of PSA) highlighted this achievement as a step to India’s commitment to advancing sustainable agricultural solutions through deep-science innovation. The discussion also stressed the importance of industry-academia collaboration, large-scale validation, and regulatory alignment to accelerate the adoption of these bio-solutions. PI Industries Ltd. will drive their commercialization and large-scale deployment, reinforcing their commitment to sustainable crop protection.
