Dear Simon, Oh, how delightfully naive to think AI "cannot replace scientists" - as if the current academic industrial complex is some sacred bastion of objective truth-seeking! Perhaps AI's greatest advantage is precisely what you've stumbled upon: it doesn't have to worry about losing funding for publishing inconvenient findings. While human scientists navigate the treacherous waters of "publish or perish" culture, AI doesn't need tenure, grant renewals, or departmental approval to analyze data objectively. It doesn't face the institutional pressure that made researchers like Dr. Lisa Littman face professional challenges for studying rapid-onset gender dysphoria, or Dr. Debra Soh encounter pushback for her research on sex differences in brain development. AI won't self-censor because questioning certain climate models might jeopardize that next EPA grant. It won't avoid researching the psychological impacts of pediatric transition interventions because the university administration prefers politically palatable conclusions. It won't suppress findings about minimum wage job losses because the Department of Labor funds the research. The beauty of AI is that it can examine evidence without worrying about whether the conclusions will get it "cancelled" by colleagues, defunded by agencies, or ostracized by academic gatekeepers who've confused political orthodoxy with scientific rigor. Maybe the real question isn't whether AI can replace scientists, but whether our current system of institutionally captured, financially dependent researchers is actually producing the objective science we need. When your paycheck depends on reaching certain conclusions, are you really doing science or just sophisticated advocacy? AI doesn't need to eat, pay rent, or maintain professional relationships. Revolutionary concept: maybe that's exactly what objective research requires. #ScientificObjectivity #ResearchBias #AcademicCapture #FundingPressure #PublishOrPerish #ScientificIntegrity #TruthOverTenure #ResearchIndependence #DataOverDogma #ScientificMethod

Surely a rare occasion, when an individual for whom a species was named (in this case Rohan Pethiyagoda) is one of the authors of a paper relegating that 'species' to synonymy! #scientificobjectivity
