Ring Fenced is a legal term and was used to solicit donations from the public. #ScotRef was attracting donations from Yes supporters not just members of the SNP. So this is a simple case of fraud. However further than the criminal offence of fraud is a criminal conspiracy to cover up the fraud which has played out in public and on the record since 2019 when @WingsScotland first started reporting the missing Ring Fenced Funds. Time and again the SNP leadership lied to cover up what has now been claimed by @JohnSwinney as spent on other activities. Conspiracy to defraud has clearly been established.

And it was not just members who paid in. Clearly they don't care enough to notice the makeup of their cash cow. It was indy supporters who chipped in - the branding of the fundraisers was Yes and ref.scot and #scotref backed up by a website and social media posts.

Swinney is ensuring that Sturgeon's mess is his mess by trying to justify the unjustifiable. The 2017 #ScotRef fundraiser was supposed to be "ring-fenced" for an independence referendum. It was very clearly marketed on that basis. He should stop digging.

Nicola Sturgeon directly fronted the campaign that encouraged independence supporters to contribute. She launched the online fundraising drive—branded as the #ScotRef appeal on 13 March 2017, on the exact same day she formally announced her intentions to pursue a second referendum on Scottish independence.

The devil is in the detail. However the first lie from both @NicolaSturgeon and her husband at the time @PeterMurrell was the promise on camera and in writing that all donations to #ScotRef would be "Ring Fenced" and only spent on the #Indyref2 campaign. 2017. Then years later after all the fraud and embezzlement Nicola Sturgeon tells the media there's no legal requirement to hold any funds in different accounts. 2021. This is untrue "Ring Fenced" is a legal term. @PoliceScotland at the very least should re-open the investigation into Nicola Sturgeon as the evidence is clear she misled the public to donate then signed off the accounts in full knowledge there's no Ring Fenced Funds. Nicola is a trained solicitor so she should know the law?

The Murrell investigation started because of a crowdfunder in 2017 called #ScotRef which specifically asked for funds for an indyref 2 campaign. The whole of the indy movement has been exploited: Swinney presenting it as solely an SNP matter is no good.
