When Mitch Delaney retired after 50 years with the IRS, she didn't just leave her job behind. She lost access to the technology that helped her stay connected and get things done independently. Through iCanConnect, Mitch received JAWS, a laptop, an iPhone, and the training to make them work for her. Today, she's back to coordinating workshops, connecting with family and friends, and staying active in her community. Read Mitch's Story: hubs.li/Q04l1qRC0 #ScreenReader #JAWS

Amazing tech @AnthropicAI... it correctly identified a screenreader for the blind as the menace it truly is. #claude #feeble

Dear Elon Musk @elonmusk As a person with visual impairment, I would like to thank you and the X team for making the platform one of the best social media apps for screen reader users. X has become an important platform for many blind and visually impaired people around the world. However, the frequent updates and constant changes to icons layouts, and interface elements can negatively affect our experience. Many of us rely on familiarity and consistency to navigate the app efficiently. When icons and features change too often it becomes more difficult and time-consuming to use the platform. We appreciate innovation and improvements but we kindly ask that major interface changes be made less frequently, or that users be given the option to keep a familiar layout. Thank you for your commitment to accessibility and inclusion. #Accessibility #Blind #VisualImpairment #ScreenReader #InclusiveDesign #DisabilityInclusion #AssistiveTechnology #A11y #BlindCommunity #XPlatform

:) Tks ^Bima

I cannot wait for this to come out i'm so tempted to join the beta, but the VoiceOver screenreader is not really prioritized to later versions usually. i know this because I was on many betas before. nr.apple.com/Dj1J2Y9Nr4

Op of the comment mentioned that this is ableist for people with screenreaders, with you following it up by saying there's a standardised leetspeek. I'm just saying that if an iteration of a letter isnt in a preset alphabet, the screenreader will read it wrong

I get that it certainly wasn’t the intentions of the UX design team but I feel like it’s important feedback that shouldn’t be ignored. #YouTube #YouTubeUpdate #YouTubeUx #A11y #Accessibility #WCAG #ScreenReader #UX #UXDesign #InclusiveDesign #Usability #DigitalInclusion 3

Why don't you admit your fundamentally stupid and cannot read properly and needs a screenreader before you get laughed at?

6. Ronin does a lot of swinging around rooftops with his grappling hook, so I'm thinking we're gonna need ledge guard, as well as traversal assist for jumping, climbing ladders-- up or down, etc. We can't just jump for joy at a screenreader and call it good.

Nichtstandardisierte Sprache erhöht die kognitive Last, • Sehbehinderungen: Etwa 1,2 Millionen.

Did you know that there are two red heart emojis that may appear identical at a glance, but to a #ScreenReader user, have completely different meanings? One is typically used to express love (❤️) while the other represents a playing card suit (♥️). @PerkinsLibrary @BlindNewWorld
