Silver Palace CBT1 First Impressions
General Overview:
- 3D Open World ARPG Victorian Era Story with plots on detective/crime solving, very detailed models and textures. Controller support available.
- 2D Art has similar vibes to R1999, 3D Models are well rendered with environmental effects like rain, day/night cycles, wind etc.
- No Gacha this CBT1, 7 playable units with Red Rose and Ashley not being available.
- 7 elements and 6 subclasses, tied to Resonance and Catalyst system.
- No dupe system this CBT1, has a similar baseline as most gachas with levels, traces, signature weapon.
Open World:
- Does not have jump nor climb, but uses mounts that can fly/glide and interactable environments like grapple hook and flying objects.
- Able to invest in real estate, investiage NPCs about backstory, buy food, easter eggs.
- Random enemy counters/hard bosses can appear, also in disguise in NPC form before investigating them.
Gameplay:
- CBT1 is limited to mainly just the story up to Act 2IV, clearing stamina to train units, and 2 endgame content.
- Fast paced 4 man swap combat similar to wuwa/zzz with its own flair. Parry, dodge, basic, special weapon (ranged/melee), ult, and break moves.
- Endgame 1 Deep Cognito is comparable to Abyss dungeons.
- Endgame 2 Case Simulation is comparable to Simulated Universe.
Combat:
- Parry shares same input as dodge on yellow circles, helps deal toughness damage. Breaking enemy once toughness depletes allows for a 'break move' which is a special finisher.
- Quickswaps encouraged with Catalyst system, where up to 3 charges can be stored allowing for an incoming ally to perform a special attack based on the catalysts equipped.
- Silvercraft is an automated combat pet that has passive teamwide buffs/dealing damage.
Feedback:
- Minor performance issues, like ending fights having ~1s freeze. A portion of the story was bugged out.
- Character eyes seem 'lifeless' likely due to insufficient pupil movement despite blinking. Feels like they are staring into nothingness.
- Camera movements and parry feedback can be improved, as combat is very fast paced.
Played on max settings, Ryzen 77800X3D, ROG4080, 64GB RAM.
