Saw the "radar equipment" on the British sailboat. Gonna be honest. That is basic bitch simrad radar and gps equipment. Pretty much most boats that go over the Atlantic have it for weather and positioning. Larger antennas would make sense as well to tap into hf bands for comms

As for size, the "brain box" is maybe 12x8x4 inches, at least for Garmin and simrad branded ones, and the transducer could easily fit in that blob on the guys face. Here's an active 3-in-1 that can do the picture style
