Currently sitting on my porch in a massive rainstorm. The power of nature is awe inspiring

I was talking about this with my buddies recently. Why don't we have rainbow tables or mining style distributed compute for inference yet. Everyone I know would donate gpu time in exchange for tokens that run an AI with a substantial fraction of global compute.
how realistic is like it be to get like 10-20 people to invest in some top of the line in french hardware and that small group runs ai though that cluster what would the performance be per person

Have you ever flown a kite bigger than yourself? I would have taken a picture in the air but it needs both hands at my skill level.

Have you looked at legs? Those are your largest appendages, and in full body sports like rowing and swimming provide 60~70% of your power. Plus this is the crawl, make this guy do butterfly if you wanna see what those arms do tho.
Why are you, as a man, a kick-powered swimmer

Many people have desired the northwest passage, famously Lewis and Clark. But planes and trains (yes the US has more rail than Europe, it's just not dense passenger rail) have obsoleted the need in the few states that are actually landlocked Great loop is something to see.

tbh we need more navigable waterways. I want to take a steamboat across the continent without ever going into the oceans.

Cardinals are rather territorial and don't migrate. The cardinals in your yard are *your* family of cardinals.
I was conversing with cardinal on my way to the car this morning. I had no idea what I was saying but we kept it going back and forth for a bit.

You think they are weird because they are flavored after a kind of banana that no longer exists commercially. It was killed by disease. These really do taste like the candy version of the old bananas.
The worst candy in the history of mankind is the Runts banana. There is nothing that comes close.

The space shuttle has been called "the most complicated engineered object" with something like 125 million moving parts. It's a shame it was such a maintenance pig, it was quite cool.
It's even worse than that. Imagine building 4 Bugattis. That you then need to tow almost everything to build a new Bugatti motorhome on a nearby mountaintop, while slipping cash to your broke drunk neighbor to finish his half of the project.

Everybody forgets that these are swamp coolers and will only work in biomes with a humidity difference to drive them. Anywhere humid and it's just extra water on you.

This is actually strictly illegal for a lot of children's media in the US. Or at least it was for a while. It's too easy to brainwash kids into buying "exactly the same one SpongeBob has" or whatever. This comes up in other odd ways, like unofficial merch in episdoes
Replying to @toutovlepo
this how i feel about merch for shows and games too. like I dont want a shirt that says the logo of the game on it, i just want a shirt from the series. Why take a cool looking jacket or something and stick an obvious logo at the bottom? Bethesda actually does it pretty well

I cannot emphasize this enough. Imagine you built a whole business around Claude as part of your backend or your process and they decided you were unsafe one day. Something like this has already happened and will happen again.

you actually cannot give this up to another corporation. you need to control your own models, your own data. it is such an insane amount of power to let someone wield over you. a corporation whose stated goal is to cannibalize your business...

The paint is usually ehh. Nothing worse than like, ink The PVA binder is also fine. Its the xylene based solvent you have to spray across it after the plastic dissolves that is the problem. His head is covered in it, and skin is a sponge 💀
Replying to @nunaambon
I would do this (assuming reasonably non-toxic paint, and freshly shaved scalp vs just trimmers as usual)

Tell me you haven't read through any of the declassification stuff, especially in the 60s. Particle beam weapons, directed plasma nukes, the flying crowbar US has more insane military ideas than can ever be manufactured
Replying to @DeutschWatamate
Nowhere close enough to the crazy stuff developed in the allied half of the world
