Hi Vasudhu, as you mentioned earlier about the Singapen scheme and its promises, this video shows the initiative in action. The Singapen Task Force continues to create awareness among women across the state and highlights how police are ready to help even if a vehicle runs out of fuel or breaks down at any point in time. Once the control room is informed, a team is dispatched to the location within 10 minutes.
The initiative also ensures dedicated patrolling under DC and AC supervision, with around 10 members on patrol at all times. Such proactive measures show that the Singapen Task Force is doing a good job and introducing new initiatives to enhance women's safety and reduce crime.
The Chennai Police
@chennaipolice_ also took swift action immediately after a complaint was raised on Twitter, which is encouraging to see.
As you said earlier tweet, the real test is how effective this initiative turns out to be. That's 💯 true. We should assess it after a few months and see how effectively it functions on the ground and whether it leads to a noticeable reduction in crime rates across the state.
