Vision and will, forged into reality! This is big news and a huge relief for Srinagarites! Under the dynamic leadership and strong political will of Hon’ble MLA Khanyar Jenab @AliMSagar_ , work on the 7 MGD Activated Carbon Chamber at 19 MGD WTP Nishat, Khanyar is under progress, the project commenced in Jan 2025 and is now taking pace. This visionary initiative will eliminate colour & odour issues, finally delivering pure, clean drinking water to Srinagar city, including the majority of downtown areas benefiting 6.5 lac people in Srinagar. Heartfelt appreciation for the dedication of PHE officials and the consistent support of the District Administration. Budget: Rs 366.57 Lakh (AMRUT 2.0) Target Completion: December 2026 #CleanWaterForSrinagar #JalShakti #AMRUT2 #Khanyarthemodelconstituency #SrinagarDevelopment

Today, December 15, 2025, at the District Development Board Meeting chaired by Hon'ble Chief Minister @OmarAbdullah Sahab, I, in my capacity as MLA Khanyar, presented critical concerns for Khanyar constituency and Srinagar district, segregated department-wise for targeted action: 1. #Environment, Forest & Climate Change Department: Proposed immediate constitution of a committee headed by Hon’ble Chief Minister to assess climate change impacts on ecology and air quality of the region and formulate a comprehensive policy framework to halt further deterioration. 2. #Planning, Development & Monitoring Department / Finance Department (Capex Budget): Stalled ₹40 crore Capex projects recommended by MLAs remain on paper; urged immediate grounding and execution. 3. #Public Works (R&B) department long-pending road widening projects from 2009-2014: Khanyar-Nowhatta-Nowshera (KZP), Syed Meerak Shah Road (Zakura-Dalgate), Koolipora-Khanyar, and downtown links (Bohri Kadal-Rajouri Kadal). 4. #Urban lighting (JKPDD) and SMC Electric Division City in darkness due to disconnected street lights during smart meter installations by KPDCL , despite CDF/MPLADS-funded new lights; need immediate task force to check restoration. 5. #Health & Medical Education Department: Non-functional 50-bedded Ayush Hospital Harwan (since 2011); pending upgradation of UPHC Nishat to SDH. Hospital extensions stalled (S.R. Gunj receiving station shift; Gousia G 2 block frozen). #School Education Department: Decade-long delays in repair/face-lifting of government schools in Khanyar. 6. #Fire & Emergency Services Department / Disaster Management: Urgent fire station at approved Wazpora M.R. Gunj site amid frequent downtown tragedies; absence of relief provisions for commercial fire victims. 7. #Water Supply and Quality check Jal Shakti (PHE) Department: Severe water scarcity affecting tail-end areas (need more tankers); deteriorating Dal Lake water quality (odour, discolouration) posing health risks. 7. #Forest Department (Wildlife Protection): Wild boar havoc in Theed-Dhara due to unchecked reproduction and incomplete Dachigam fencing. 8. #Revenue Department (Custodian / Estates): Delayed land transfers/demarcations for community buildings despite repeated requests. 9. #Religious Endowments (Waqf Board): Alleged irregularities in graveyard plots and commercial rentals. 10. #Housing & Urban Development Department (LCMA): Need humane, unbiased LCMA enforcement with proactive solutions over biased post-facto bulldozing; focused attention on urban congestion and systematic expansion. 11. #Youth Services & Sports Department: Facilitation of sports excellence centres, water sports, playgrounds in Nishat-Brane; fee exemptions for local sportspersons. Urged swift inter-departmental coordination and directives for resolution. #Khanyar #SrinagarDevelopment

They can remove foundation stones but not the facts, @Junaid_Mattu Real development can’t be rewritten by insecure leaders who have nothing of their own to show. Srinagar remembers who built and who just claims credit. #TruthBeatsPropaganda #SrinagarDevelopment
Heartening to see the Bahrar, Baghwanpora Community Center near completion. This is the second marriage hall we delivered to the people of Zadibal during my tenure in the service of the people, the other one being at Abiyar, Doonipora. I’m told the foundation stone has been removed but that’s expected from those at the helm. And I’m least bothered by it. They can continue inaugurating projects from my tenure given that they have precious little to show on account of their own contributions. But, leaving the pettiness and petulance of those in power aside, it sets a bad precedence in affairs of governance and calls into question the basic principle of continuity in democratic institutions. How many foundation stones will they remove from the city? And do they really think it will matter? @SMC_Srinagar

These videos are the proof of blatant misuse of public money, no real ground work. This is basic infrastructure which the local govt. @SMC_Srinagar is not able to provide. Shame😔😔 on @SMC_Srinagar #SrinagarDevelopment #waterlogging
