My MSc project was supposed to follow up on Schön’s results. I went to discuss the papers I was reading one day and my advisor curtly said “we’re not going to do that anymore”. Took a little longer before I caught wind of why… 😳

At this point I've heard many people's stories about wasting a year because of Schon!
A good number of such people are enumerated in @EugenieReich's book Plastic Fantastic, but I know of a bunch more that aren't.
