𝙀𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙥𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙯𝙖𝙣𝙖 𝙕𝙚𝙝𝙧𝙞 March 18, 2026 Paank strongly condemns the enforced disappearance of Farzana Zehri from Khuzdar, Balochistan, on December 1, 2025. Her case reflects an alarming continuation of human rights violations in the region, where individuals particularly women are subjected to unlawful detention without due process. For four months following her disappearance, there was a complete lack of transparency from state and government institutions regarding her whereabouts and well-being. This prolonged silence caused immense distress to her family and raised serious concerns about her safety and fundamental rights. The situation escalated further when Farzana Zehri was suddenly presented before the media in what appears to be a staged press conference. Paank views this as a clear attempt to control the narrative and justify actions that violate both domestic law and international human rights standards. Such “media trials” undermine the principles of justice, due process, and dignity. From Paank’s perspective, this incident highlights several critical issues: Enforced Disappearances: The continued use of enforced disappearance as a tool of suppression is a grave violation of human rights and international law. Lack of Accountability: State institutions have failed to provide transparent explanations or legal justification for such actions. Coercion and Narrative Control: The use of press conferences to present a state-approved version of events raises concerns about coercion and the victim’s freedom to speak. Gendered Impact: The targeting of a young Baloch woman underscores the increasing vulnerability of women in conflict-affected regions. Paank calls upon the government of Pakistan and relevant authorities to: 1. Ensure an independent and transparent investigation into the disappearance of Farzana Zehri. 2. Hold all responsible individuals and institutions accountable. 3. End the practice of enforced disappearances immediately. 4. Guarantee the protection of fundamental human rights, particularly for women and marginalized communities in Balochistan. Paank reiterates that justice, accountability, and respect for human dignity are non-negotiable, and any deviation from these principles further erodes public trust in state institutions.
