The numbers don't lie. While Governor Pillen claims he is reducing the size of government and government spending, the reality is that our state government has expanded and expenditures have increased. According to public records obtained by the Lincoln Journal Star, Nebraska added 1,100 state employees, and spending has risen by 31% compared to former Governor Pete Ricketts' last budget in 2022. Here are the facts: when Pillen took office, he inherited a budget surplus of $1.2 billion. However, when our Nebraska Legislature convenes in January, they will face an estimated budget shortfall of $430 million. This marks the second consecutive session with a budget deficit. Like last year and the year before, Governor Pillen will likely attempt to persuade the legislature to raise taxes on hard-working Nebraskans to cover his spending. His promises to cut property taxes have fallen significantly short of expectations, and his administration has squandered opportunities to secure hundreds of millions of dollars that could have been invested in broadband expansion and rural economic development. As people and businesses leave Nebraska, Pillen has suggested that the solution is to grow our state from within. This approach is misguided. We are missing opportunities to strengthen our economy. We cannot achieve economic growth by imposing higher taxes on our residents. Nebraska requires leadership focused on attracting new businesses and creating more jobs, while also ensuring a well-qualified workforce through training. We must embrace AI and modern technologies, and guarantee that we have the broadband infrastructure necessary for expansion across the state. Nebraska needs a positive vision for the future, along with a leader capable of promoting that vision to the world. #StateSpending #budgetdeficit #ruraleconomicdevelopment #LeadershipMatters journalstar.com/news/state-r…

❗😲 At the current pace of advance, Russia could fully occupy Ukraine by the year 2256, @Forbes writes. Estimated toll: 101 million lives. This staggering projection comes amid catastrophic Russian losses in manpower and equipment. Yet the Kremlin sustains its #WarMachine with 30,000 new conscripts each month, returning wounded, and 40% of all #StateSpending poured into #defense — the highest share since the #ColdWar. Held together by numbers, not strength. The report is striking — but let’s be realistic: Russia may well accelerate its offensive. #StopRussianAggression Photo: @anadoluimages

🚨 URGENT: Washington State paid $2,237,404 to Larry Heggerness Social Purpose in the 2023-25 biennium through the Health Care Authority for "Grants, Benefits & Client Services" (fiscal.wa.gov), despite the company being administratively dissolved since 05/03/2021 (sos.wa.gov, UBI #603 262 741). This is a massive misuse of taxpayer funds to an inactive entity—potentially an error or worse. I have proof of its dissolved status. Immediate investigation is needed! #WashingtonState #StateSpending #Accountability

🚨Illinois Audit Exposes Massive Overspending on Healthcare Program for Illegal Immigrants A recent Illinois state audit has uncovered significant financial mismanagement under Governor JB Pritzker’s administration, revealing that a healthcare program for illegal immigrants cost taxpayers $1.6 billion, more than 200% above initial projections. The audit, released in late February 2025, paints a troubling picture of underestimated costs and incompetent oversight, sparking outrage among critics who argue the program placed an undue burden on Illinois residents. Launched in 2020, the initiative, comprising the Health Benefits for Immigrant Adults (HBIA) and Health Benefits for Immigrant Seniors (HBIS) programs, was intended to provide Medicaid like coverage to noncitizens, including illegal immigrants. However, the audit found that the Pritzker administration drastically miscalculated both enrollment numbers and expenses. For example, the HBIA program for adults aged 42-64 ballooned to $485 million over three years, nearly quadruple the anticipated $126 million. The senior program also exceeded expectations, costing 84% more than projected. Beyond the cost overruns, the audit highlighted operational failures. Over 6,000 enrollees listed as “undocumented” possessed Social Security numbers, suggesting some may have been legal residents eligible for federal Medicaid, funds the state failed to pursue. Additionally, nearly 700 individuals in the senior program were under 65, with errors often tied to incorrect data. State Senate Republican leader John Curran labeled the findings “gross mismanagement,” accusing Pritzker of overspending without accountability. Facing a $3 billion budget shortfall, Pritzker has since proposed cutting the HBIA program, a move expected to save $330 million, while preserving HBIS for seniors. Critics, including Curran, argue the damage is already done, pointing to years of unchecked spending fueled by tax hikes and COVID relief funds. Pritzker has defended the program’s intent, emphasizing the need for healthcare access, but the audit’s revelations have intensified calls for greater transparency and fiscal restraint in Illinois’ handling of taxpayer dollars. #IllinoisAudit #JBPritzker #HealthcareSpending #IllegalImmigrants #TaxpayerFunds #StateBudget #MedicaidProgram #FiscalMismanagement #IllinoisPolitics #PritzkerAdministration #HealthBenefits #BudgetShortfall #GovernmentOversight #TaxHikes #COVIDRelief #StateSenate #RepublicanCriticism #Transparency #FiscalResponsibility #IllinoisTaxpayers #ProgramCosts #AuditFindings #HealthcarePolicy #UndocumentedImmigrants #PublicFunds #PritzkerCuts #HBIA #HBIS #JohnCurran #IllinoisNews #GovernmentWaste #StateSpending #PoliticalAccountability #HealthcareAccess #BudgetCrisis #news #NewsUpdate #BREAKING #BreakingNews

Let THEM (the mafiocrats), cut down to 8% maximum the #StateSpending ! More Tax&Spend is totally unacceptable; because it will drown further the #LebaneseEconomy 😡 The taxation system is the most stupid and unfair in the free enterprise world. To #SaveLebanon it’s necessary and indispensable to replace the totality of the present #TaxSystem by a flat tax that shouldn’t exceed the 2,5% collected at the source on each income, in one way or another, widely collected from all of Lebanon’s inhabitants, residents or not, through a consumption charge most probably. That should be combined with declaring all of #Lebanon A FREE ZONE. Then, we can HOPE to MAKE LEBANON GREAT AGAIN #MLGA 🇱🇧🙌👑
A state that lacks income, usually looks for tax evasion to track it down. In Lebanon this niche constitutes two thirds of the population. But the Lebanese government has chosen to increase taxes tenfold for the minority who pays. Civil disobedience has become a national duty.
