✨ We’re delighted to announce that a 'Naval Aircraft Factory' N3N‑3 Canary will be joining us on static display at the RAF Cosford Air Show on Sunday 14 June 2026! ✨ ✈️ Built in 1941, the N3N‑3, commonly known as the Canary or Yellow Peril, was uniquely designed and built entirely by the US Government at the Naval Aircraft Factory in Pennsylvania as a primary trainer for US Navy cadets. Of all‑metal construction and designed to operate on both wheels and floats, the N3N was used to train naval aviators, flying boat pilots and also served in specialist roles including glider towing. Built toward the end of World War II, the YAK‑3 quickly earned a reputation as one of the most agile and effective fighters of its era. After the war, this aircraft type was exported to Egypt, where the Egyptian Air Force continued flying YAK‑3s into the 1950s. ✈ Following decades of inactivity, this particular aircraft returned to flight in 1995 after an extensive restoration. Today, it is operated on the French historic register and based in Antwerp, Belgium. Despite its continental home, its English owner Bob Davy regularly brings it to the UK during the summer months for displays and airshow appearances - making it a rare and special sight for enthusiasts!
