I originally was looking at a #weightedblanket for Ss during #TISC2018. I ended up ordering one from @Get_CapeAble for myself. Educators need to be regulated in order to help their students regulate. I absolutely love it! Let the #selfreg begin. #traumainfomed#selfcare#alted
I was able to put a lot of my learning from last weekend’s #TISC2018 to use with my son this weekend. It is so amazing to be able to connect with him beyond his trauma. He is the strongest person I know.
When your kid brings in a “stress brain” you got @ the swag station at #tisc2018 for show and tell and is able to talk about his cerebral cortex you know our MindUp teaching is working!
I recently heard the comment "Why do they still have behavior problems at that (my) school they are trauma-informed?" This indicates to me they don't realize we are fixing broken systems and supporting kids, not trying to fix kids. Kids aren't broken. #TraumaInformed#tisc2018
Pleasure to connect with you and your colleagues at #tisc2018, @MrJJSully. We are in MO often to support great schools so reach out anytime if I can help. In the meantime here is one of the resources that might support your efforts!
I need to be explicit. Operating in a #TraumaInformed way is extremely difficult for adults including me sometimes, but it's what is best for kids. It's simply a journey not at destination and many times the are detours on the journey #TraumaInformedChat#tisc2018#tisnetwork

Was proud to present alongside @PrincipalCates on Building a Positive School Culture at #TISC2018. A powerful weekend making connections & learning with educators on the same journey to build their #traumainformed capacity. #BetterTogether#alted
Take away from #TISC2018 , one of the biggest challenges to having a trauma sensitive school is understanding that often our staff has trauma of it's own. We have to take care of our teachers if we want them to take care of our kids.
Respond > React. Allow yourself to pause and respond. The message we send with our body language/energy can change interactions with our Ss. #TISC2018#iteachmo
