🔥 #FACTCHECK FOR #MISLEADING #FALSE #OVERDRAMATIC CLAIMS: “The US just dropped its largest non‑nuclear bomb on Iran’s nuclear facility” --- 1️⃣ “The United States just dropped its largest non‑nuclear bomb on Iran’s suspected nuclear weapons facility.” ⚠️ Partially true / unconfirmed - Confirmed: A site at Parchin (Taleghan‑2) long linked to Iran’s nuclear program shows major strike damage in recent satellite imagery. - Not confirmed: That the weapon was definitively a GBU‑57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator, or that the strike was by the US (as opposed to Israel or a joint operation). Current analysis says “raises the possibility” and “may have been” MOPs, not certainty. --- 2️⃣ “Satellite imagery from Maxar and Planet Labs, analysed by Middlebury and ISIS, shows significant damage at Taleghan‑2; weapon signature is consistent with GBU‑57 from B‑2 bombers out of Whiteman AFB.” ⚠️ Partially true / overstated - True: Imagery‑based analysis by independent researchers shows three large impact points at Taleghan‑2, consistent with very heavy bunker‑buster munitions. - Not supported as stated: The viral text swaps in specific providers (Maxar/Planet) and specific analysts (Middlebury ISIS) plus B‑2s from Whiteman as if confirmed. Public reporting only says the pattern is consistent with MOP‑type weapons and suggests B‑2 use—none of that is officially confirmed. --- 3️⃣ “Parchin / Taleghan‑2 is a site linked to nuclear‑weapon‑related experiments, including hydrodynamic tests and man‑made uranium particles found by the IAEA.” ✅ Correct - The Parchin complex—specifically Taleghan‑2—has been identified in IAEA reporting and independent analysis as a site associated with high‑explosive experiments relevant to nuclear weapon design and later sanitisation activities that hindered verification. --- 4️⃣ “The GBU‑57 exists for one purpose: to hold at risk Iran’s deeply buried nuclear facilities.” ⚠️ Partially true / simplified - The GBU‑57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator was designed to hold at risk deeply buried, hardened targets, including nuclear infrastructure in states like Iran and North Korea. - Saying it exists for one purpose only (Iran) is rhetorical simplification, not a precise statement of US doctrine. --- 5️⃣ “B‑2s flew from Whiteman AFB to Iran and back (~25,000 km) to deliver the bomb.” ❌ Not confirmed / speculative - Open‑source analysis speculates B‑2 involvement based on the type of weapon that would be required, but there is no official confirmation of launch base, flight path, or platform. --- 6️⃣ “The war has now ‘crossed into the nuclear domain’ and Iran’s nuclear hedge has been destroyed, forcing a choice between surrender or acceleration.” ⚠️ Opinion / scenario, not fact - It is true that striking a site historically linked to nuclear‑weapon work has serious strategic implications. - But claims about Iran’s future choices, the state of its nuclear hedge, or a binary “surrender or accelerate” decision are analytical opinions, not verifiable facts. --- 7️⃣ “The war cost $11.3B in six days; Strait carries 8 tankers instead of 138; Dubai’s towers and Oman’s port are burning from debris.” ⚠️ Mostly unverified / likely exaggerated - Some disruption to tanker traffic and regional infrastructure is documented, but these exact figures and dramatic images are not backed by the same level of sourcing. --- 🧭 BOTTOM LINE - Real and serious: A hardened facility at Parchin (Taleghan‑2), historically linked to nuclear‑related work, has been heavily damaged in recent strikes. - Not proven: That the US “just dropped” a GBU‑57 from B‑2s out of Whiteman, or that this is definitively the “largest non‑nuclear bomb” used in this war—these remain unconfirmed but plausible hypotheses, not established facts. - --- ️⃣ #FactCheck #Iran #Parchin #Taleghan2 #NuclearProgram #GBU57 #BunkerBuster #Geopolitics #Disinformation #VerifyBeforeSharing

WOW! KUDOS TO ISRAEL 👏 "#Israel has #destroyed a top-secret #nuclear #weaponsresearchcenter in #Iran, according to Axios, citing American and Israeli officials. The target was the "#Taleghan2" #military #facility located within the #Parchinmilitarycomplex southeast of #Tehran. #Satelliteimages show the #building #completely #destroyed. The Israel Defense Forces (#IDF) struck the facility on October 25 in response to Iran's attack on Israel on October 1, when Iranian forces launched over 200 rockets at Israeli cities."

At Parchin, the old Taleghan 2 building was attacked for more than one reason, according to an Israeli government source.  But the one he would confirm was to send a signal. Remember the Iranians claimed they never had any nuclear activity at this site, so Iran (or others) cannot complain that Israel attacked nuclear assets. #Parchin #Taleghan2 #Iran #JCPOA #Israel #NuclearWeapon #WMD

The Institute has acquired high-resolution satellite imagery of the Israeli missile strikes on the Parchin Military Complex in Iran.  Four buildings were destroyed, including Taleghan 2, a facility formerly involved in nuclear weapons development during Iran's Amad Plan in the early 2000s.  The other three buildings are related to Iranian missile production involving the mixing of propellants for solid rocket motors. Based on information in the Iranian Nuclear Archive, and discussed in the Institute book available on Amazon, Iran’s Perilous Pursuit of Nuclear Weapons, Taleghan 2 may have hosted an important nuclear weapons test in 2003 involving a scaled-down version of key elements of the nuclear explosive device.  Although, the reason why Israel attacked the Taleghan 2 building is still not known publicly.  1/ Amazon Listing: amazon.com/Irans-Perilous-Pu… #Iran #Israel #Parchin #MissileStrike #JCPOA #Taleghan2
