"Donate clothes" campaign of
@BGRedCross, "Texlife" &
@serdikacenter collected 900 kilograms of clothes & shoes for reuse,
#recycling and energy recovery. Part of the collected usable
#clothes & shoes will be donated to people who have suffered in disasters, and for every kilogram of materials collected, the Bulgarian Red Cross receives a monetary donation.
🐙 A magical "Sea World" was created by students of the National Academy of Arts (
#NHA) with a small part of the collected clothes. In the art installation of the young artists there are bizarre inhabitants of the marine world - jellyfish from cotton shirts on banel constructions, 🐠 fish from sweatshirts and a children's carnival dress, stingray fish from shirts, jackets and skirts, corals from scarves and gloves and many others 🦀🐬 marine inhabitants. For more than a month, until August 13 of this year, the art project was exhibited in "Serdika Center", where it attracted the interest of tens of thousands of visitors. The art installation "Sea World" was created by 1st & 2nd year students of Fashion Design National Academy of Arts w/ the help of their colleagues from the "Scenography" specialty, under the guidance of Assoc. Dr. Alexander Gerginov.
✅ As part of the campaign, a huge clothing box was placed in the "Serdika Center" where all visitors to the mall left their donations. Nearly half of the donated amount will be sent to Africa and the Middle East, and about 30% will be recycled in India and Pakistan.
❗️👕👗👖 The interest in the campaign and the donations collected greatly exceeded the initial expectations of the organizers and there are already talks about a second edition of the campaign by the end of this year, so that more people can get involved and donate.
