At the start of AI vibe, I thought it was now my time to build with techstacks which had shown me dust. Elixir, Rust, Angular, etc
Then I joined a big tech and realized they were building APIs in Spring Boot (Java and Kotlin). These are languages I have used for years. Though they had a strict AI policy, I could ship fast without creating unnecessary risks.
I understand Java and Kotlin way too well. I have a working knowledge of React. I can ship complicated stuff with just Kotlin, React, python and swift. I know when the code is right, and when it’s wrong.
Instead of fighting with programming languages, I am finding ways to solve existing business problems with code. JVM based tech shines in enterprise, which is also my focus area.
Now pushed most of my learning to cloud and databases. I no longer write code by hand, but I read most of it. I design by hand though, and guide AI to implement whatever I have designed.
This gives me balance.
