📍 Jammu The Liaison Officers' Training-cum-Refreshers Programme organized by the Textiles Committee commenced today at the Convention Centre, Canal Road, Jammu. The Textiles Committee has been mapping textile consumption patterns in the household sector through the National Household Sample Survey titled "Market for Textiles & Clothing" (MTC), covering 13,540 households across 364 centres, including 111 urban and 253 rural centres across the country. The programme brings together Liaison Officers from Northern States to strengthen data collection methodologies, enhance survey quality, and gain insights into emerging fibres, products, and sustainability aspects under the MTC Survey. The Textile Export Facilitation Centre (TEFC), Ludhiana successfully conducted a webinar on India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA): Opportunities for Textile Exporters on 08 June 2026. The session provided valuable insights into tariff concessions, market access opportunities, rules of origin, and the potential benefits of the proposed India–Oman CEPA for the Indian textile sector. With active participation from 66 industry representatives, the webinar served as an important platform for enhancing awareness and strengthening export readiness among textile exporters. Shri J. D. Barman, Director (EP&QA), Textiles Committee, Mumbai, graced the programme and highlighted the importance of the India–Oman CEPA in promoting textile exports. He also emphasized the role of TEFC in supporting exporters through trade facilitation, market intelligence, and capacity-building initiatives. The technical session was delivered by Shri Pankaj Kumar, Assistant Director - Ludhiana , who provided insights into the key provisions of the agreement, including tariff concessions, market access opportunities, rules of origin, and the potential benefits for Indian textile exporters. Awareness Programme on FTAs, Trade Connect Portal & Relief Support under EPM – Bhadohi Textiles Committee, through its Textile Export Facilitation Centre (TEFC), Varanasi, organised a one-day awareness programme on “Maximizing Textile Export Potential through FTAs and Trade Connect Portal & Awareness on Relief Support under EPM” on 21 May 2026 at All India Carpet Manufacturers Association (AICMA), Kaleen Bhavan, Bhadohi (U.P.). The programme commenced with lamp lighting and a welcome address by Shri Ambrish Singh, Assistant Director, Textiles Committee. The event was graced by Dr. Rajeev Kumar Varshney, Director, IICT, who addressed the participants as the Chief Guest. During the programme, Shri Brijesh Kumar Shukla, Assistant Director, Textiles Committee presented the activities and initiatives of TEFC. Shri Ranjan Joshi, Assistant Director General of Foreign Trade delivered an informative session on the benefits of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and the Trade Connect Portal for exporters. Shri Muralidhar Mahato, Branch Manager, ECGC, Varanasi explained the relief support available under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) and guided exporters on leveraging the scheme for export growth and risk mitigation. The programme also featured addresses by industry representatives including Shri Piyush Kumar Baranwal, Secretary, AICMA, who appreciated the efforts of the Textiles Committee in strengthening awareness and support mechanisms for exporters. The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from exporters and industry representatives from Bhadohi and nearby regions, who actively engaged in discussions on FTAs, export facilitation, and support schemes. The programme witnessed participation from 60 stakeholders, who benefited from the informative sessions and appreciated the initiative of TEFC Varanasi in organising such programmes for the benefit of trade and industry. Training Programme on FTAs Textiles Committee, through its TEFC Karur, organised a one-day training programme on “Maximizing Textile Export Potential through FTAs and Trade Connect Portal and Awareness on RELIEF Support under Export Promotion Mission” at Karur on 12 May 2026. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Bharat Prakash, IRS, Commissioner of Customs (Preventive), Trichy, in the august presence of Shri P. Gopalakrishnan, President, KTMEA and Shri Ramesh, Chairman, HEPC. During the programme, Shri Sivagnanam, FTDO, Office of DGFT, Coimbatore delivered a presentation on the Trade Connect Portal, while Shri Vijay Paul, Branch Manager, ECGC, Karur explained the RELIEF support under the Export Promotion Mission. Shri J. Parameswaran, Deputy Director and Shri V.N. Gowrishankar, QAO, Textiles Committee delivered detailed presentations on various Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and their significance in enhancing textile export opportunities. The programme witnessed participation from 65 exporters, who actively engaged in the sessions and benefited from the discussions.
