The IRF Statistics team participated in the 77th session of the Working Party on Transport Statistics (WP.6) earlier this week at the @UNECE in Geneva, Switzerland. NSO, MoSPI is revising the base year for the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) from 2011-12 to 2022-23 on 1st June 2026. First released in 1937, the IIP's base year is updated periodically to accurately reflect the evolving industrial landscape, new sectors, and changing production patterns. Earlier revisions were for base years 1946, 1951, 1956, 1960, 1970, 1980–81, 1993–94, and 2004–05. The current base year is 2011-12, which was officially released in 2017.
