Don't go by reels of Samir hutiya. They all are sellouts. Both the chumbanis have been working for America since time immemorial and Jaishankar's son and a few other babus have got thinktank jobs in lieu of India's sovereignty. Desh bech diya bsdwalon ne.
I have been abusing bhadwas of ORF since eternity and stand vindicated today. It is an org that actually does what we accuse Carnegie, CFR, CPR etc off, lobby and influence policies for American govt, with the support of India's foreign minister.

Why do legacy Indian businesses spend so abysmally low on R&D? Why don’t we have even the glimpses of a Bell Lab here? Why is there not a single Indian company in sights like 3M? My hypothesis is that most of our legacy businesses emerged during the thick of “Licence Raj”, a time when cozying with the state was the only way to get business done. This created deep distrust in the society. Public didn’t trust the big businesses nor did they trust the state. The state didn’t trust the people or the businesses (hence nationalized everything in sight). And the businesses didn’t trust themselves- hence they did everything to thwart competition. Unofficial lobbying was the flavour of the day. Big businesses back in the day had dedicated desks to mark bureaucrats- ensuring the babu’s kids got the scholarship for Ivy League schools or some thinktank would give them a cushy retirement job. Sadly, the same distrust still exists today. Sincere investing in R&D means paying really smart people a bucket load of money to solve problems which might need a decade to see the light of day. These long term bets on “another human being” are still unfathomable in many Indian companies. Even the most successful of Indian companies feel hesitant in trusting smart outsiders or even employees; and giving them a carte blanche to solve “moonshot” problems. Insecurity looms large and such investments are often seen as zero-sum games. This leads to severe misalignment of incentives. We don’t have original deep tech companies because our non-institutional investors could never allow an Elon Musk or a Sam Altman to execute their vision with full agency. Our Software services companies are competitive because of labour arbitrage. Some of these IT service giants still offer the same packages to campus hires as it did 10 years ago, is because that is the only price at which project costs are feasible. Gig economies thrive because the amount paid to delivery guys are too low to impact cost. But once wages increase, a lot of this will turn on its head. As we inch towards a middle income economy, all of our businesses that rely on cheap labour are at risk. We are still miles away from unlocking the true potential of positive-sum games and human collaboration. Until we become a high trust society, we will keep meandering as an arbitrage economy. True innovation stems from trust and wits. We surely have the wits, as is evident from the umpteent Indian origin CEOs we have seen in the west. What we need is trust to sail us through.

Pistorius & Co. sollten hier mal genauer hinhören! berliner-zeitung.de/article/…

Lovely Lyme - so many happy memories of amazing days out there when we lived in nearby Somerset. At Thinktank Museum, Birmingham at half term my grandson attended a fantastic workshop about fossils and ‘made’ one. Still in pride of place at home.

We went through there at half term on our way to visit the amazing Thinktank science museum, which my science obsessed grandson loved. Thankfully my daughter has a better sense of direction than her mother so we were fine! Didn’t like seeing armed police at the station though.

I suspect there's a thinktank trying to astroturf a negative perception of Fromsoft, given all the news of foreign corporate interests pressuring Kadokawa about them specifically.

Hi @FBI, not sure if you saw but this guy working for a foreign-aligned thinktank seems to be calling for the assassination of an American citizen and journalist.
Ali Khamenei is gone. Yahya Sinwar is gone. Hassan Nasrallah is gone. Now the most public advocate for the elimination of Israel may be Peter Beinart. We’ll see how Mojtaba Khamenei and Erdogan evolve. For now, Peter is out front. Mazal Tov.
