Member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the African Union, the Arab League, the Organization of Turkic States, and the D-8 collectively represent a vast geopolitical space endowed with abundant natural resources above and below ground, large and youthful populations, and strategic positions along major global energy, trade, and transportation routes. Despite this considerable collective potential, the absence of a comprehensive and institutionalized common security and defense framework among these countries limits their ability to establish an effective system of collective deterrence against external interventions.
Such a security architecture is essential for the protection of populations, the safeguarding of sacred and holy sites, the preservation of regional peace and stability, and the advancement of sustainable socio-economic development. Therefore, the establishment of a coordinated security and defense framework capable of strengthening strategic cooperation, ensuring collective security, and enhancing deterrence against external interventions should be urgently evaluated.
