If the
#Kurds decide to start a war, it will not begin from
#KurdistanRegion (Iraqi Kurdistan). Kurdish forces already have thousands of fighters inside
#Rojhelat (
#IranianKurdistan), and those forces are capable of operating independently. The conflict would therefore be driven primarily by Kurdish forces inside Iran, without requiring large-scale involvement from other Kurdish regions.
However, no responsible Kurdish leadership will enter a war without strategic guarantees. The most critical factor is air protection. Without control of the sky or a
#NoFlyZone, Kurdish forces would be exposed to devastating air strikes. So far, the
#UnitedStates has not clearly provided such guarantees, and Washington’s long-term strategy toward
#Iran remains uncertain.
Before any Kurdish participation in a major conflict, several clear conditions must be met:
1. Air Protection / No-Fly Security
Kurdish regions must be protected from aerial attacks through a
#NoFlyZone over
#Kurdistan. Without this guarantee, entering a war would be strategically irresponsible.
2. Federal Status for Kurdish Regions
There must be recognition of federal Kurdish regions in both
#Rojava (
#SyrianKurdistan) and
#Rojhelat (
#IranianKurdistan) at least as an interim political solution until the
#KurdishPeople achieve their right to
#SelfDetermination.
3. No Repetition of the
#Rojava Betrayal
The
#UnitedStates must ensure that the abandonment of Kurdish allies such as what occurred in
#Rojava after the war against
#ISIS will never happen again. Trust must be rebuilt through concrete guarantees.
4. Political and Economic Support for
#Kurdistan
Kurdish regions require long-term political recognition and economic support from the international community to ensure stability and development.
5. Military Support and Heavy Weapons
If Kurdish forces are expected to confront powerful regional actors such as
#Iran, they must be equipped with modern heavy weapons and defensive systems.
6. Protection Against
#Turkey
Any Kurdish participation in regional conflict must come with clear protection against military attacks from
#Turkey, which has repeatedly targeted Kurdish areas in
#Rojava and other parts of
#Kurdistan.
The
#KurdishPeople are not unwilling to fight but they will not enter another war blindly, nor sacrifice thousands of lives only to be abandoned afterward. If the international community truly wants Kurdish participation in shaping the future of the region, it must provide security guarantees, political recognition, and strategic support for
#Kurdistan.
Without these guarantees, entering such a war would simply become another trap for the
#Kurds.
