Where it All Began - A Defining Moment from History! 🎉
From 12th–13th January 2006, leaders from Uganda’s research and education community gathered in Entebbe, on the shores of Lake Victoria, to discuss a bold idea: establishing a national research and education network to advance shared connectivity, collaboration, and innovation. The intention was to actualize the ending of extreme isolation of Uganda’s researchers and higher education practitioners from their national, regional and global peers.
That conversation became a catalyst, leading to a resolution to form Uganda’s National Research and Education Network, that we proudly know today as RENU. Pictured in the attached image are some of the key individuals who participated in that historic gathering (in no particular order):
