2. Method of Electing President: By a joint sitting of Parliament instead of direct popular vote
Stated Rationale: Reinforce constitutional governance and align with practices in other jurisdictions
While these changes are debated, the government's stated aim is to create a political environment conducive to long-term planning and continuous policy implementation, which could, in theory, attract investment and drive development via the
#NDS2.
A public feud at the highest level would sabotage these goals, creating uncertainty that harms the economy and national morale. Zimbabweans' desire for peace and predictable governance is best served by leaders who project cohesion and a shared vision for the country's institutions.
