En otra vida fui proveedor de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días (los mormones). Les desarrollaba y mantenía algunas webs hace 20 años y solía tener llamadas telefónicas con Salt Lake City cada tanto. Siempre me llamó la atención la ciudad. Sin relación a eso, el año pasado me invitaron de orador a UtahJS y conocí la ciudad. Allí está el centro administrativo de los mormones; caminando se me pararon a hablar misioneros cada 5 minutos incluyendo dos chicas argentinas. Fuimos a comer con los organizadores de la conferencia y me doy cuenta que todo el equipo era mormón. Me dijeron en la mesa al pedir "vos igual pedite alcohol si querés". Todos se pedían de aperitivo "dirty sodas" (gaseosas sucias) que es como llaman a los mocktails o tragos sin alcohol, un furor en la región por las restricciones religiosas. En el evento por suerte igual había café, aunque no era lo más consumido. En la charla les conté que en Argentina en las oficinas de la iglesia toman mate y mate cocido que, ante la falta de prohibición religiosa concreta, reemplazaba a la falta de café y de te. La rebelación del cuerpo como templo de dios no incluía a la yerba mate 😅 Nada más... estas fueron mis memorias relacionadas con Salt Lake City, luego que llegaran estos dos vuelos directo de Delta: Salt Lake City - Ezeiza.
