Volgograd Region Governor Andrey Bocharov announced at 3:30 a.m. that Russian Defense Ministry forces were repelling a "massive UAV attack."
Eyewitnesses reported a fire on Udmurtskaya Street in Volgograd.
According to Bocharov, there were no injuries, but the falling debris allegedly caused "dry" grass to catch fire.
"Due to the fall of drone debris in the south of the city - in the area of Udmurtskaya and Jack London streets - local fires of dry vegetation have occurred," the official announced.
He added that "fire crews are already working on the ground."
In connection with the UAV attack , restrictions were introduced at Volgograd airport : two flights were canceled and three were delayed.
The emergency was declared over at half past four in the morning.

At the same time, the head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Petro Andryuschenko, reported the destruction of a target in the Volgrad region - the Shpalopropitka railway station, which was involved in the military logistics of the occupiers.
"Volgograd. Between 01:45 and 05:15 , a mass attack took place. The Shpalopropitka railway station, 11 Udmurtskaya Street, Volgograd, was hit," the report says.
According to Andryuschenko, the consequences and severity of the damage require additional clarification.
