2022…. As the 12th Parliament adjourns ‘sine die’ and we release the first institutional scorecard, assessing its legislative output. In a bid to uphold ethics and integrity in our politics and in the lead up to the election, a second red-carded list of aspirants is released by the National Integrity Alliance. We set out to mobilise as many youth as possible to register and shape the outcome of the 2022 general election through the #GTokeze campaign. Along with the campaign, came two very instrumental civic tech tools - #KnowYourRep and the #VoteCompass. The general election is held and there’s a new administration. Women make history in the election marking the highest number of them landing elective seats – 29 single member constituencies and 7 gubernatorial seats, a milestone we tracked and documented. New leadership takes shape in the legislature amid disputes on who the majority side in both houses rightfully was. Kenya mourns its 3rd President – Mwai Kibaki while the longest-reigning British monarch Queen Elizabeth II rests. Na kama nchi, tulijikunakuna kweli… And that same year, we expand our geographical scope and go regional. The Africa Parliamentary Monitoring Organisations Network (APMON) is established with @mzalendowatch as the current chair…. Not too long after the new administration takes shape, graft cases against key government officials start getting withdraw. A worrying pattern for the fight against corruption in Kenya. We continue our monitoring work with the 13th Parliament… #TheShadowHansard #MzalendoAt20 #EyeOnParliamentKE

My most outside the votecompass political opinion is that we should bring back state sanctioned one-sided food fights for minor offences like smoking where you're not supposed to and tweeting misinformation about medieval Europe

Dear @VoteCompass people, Just filled in the post-election survey you sent me and whilst you did a great job with the questions/options, there was one vital one missing. Fixed it for you below… 😊 #AusPol

More than 1.6M Canadians and nearly 1.5M Australians used @VoteCompass in the lead-up to their respective federal elections this week— a powerful sign of civic engagement across two continents. Turns out maple syrup and democracy sausage pair pretty well. 🇨🇦🇦🇺 #cdnpoli #auspoli

Yeah we talked about what some of the little parties stand for on the walk home. One surprising example (to them) was the Animal Justice Party who oppose feral animal culls that protect native species

As is tradition, I will be live-tweeting findings from the #elxn45 edition of @VoteCompass while we await the election results. More than 1.6 million Canadians used Vote Compass during the campaign—a testament to our collective commitment to an informed and robust democracy.

So telling that when my kids have participated in VoteCompass assignments in their rural central Alberta high school, many of the kids haven't placed close to Conservative. It's almost like they don't know or care about party platforms. 😅

You landed in the same neck of the woods I did. I found some of there questions interesting. I thought the last time I did it, the questions were more values based not as much tied to “the thing of the day”.

I got around the same as you which is weird because I keep being told I'm to the far right of Pauline and Hitler for knowing that men aren't women.

BUILD A BALLOT | Have you tried Build a Ballot to plan how you’re going to vote on election day? 🤔 It seems much more representative than @abcnews' dodgy @VoteCompass which does not include most minor parties and independents: buildaballot.org.au/ Give 'Build a Ballot' a go! 🧐

I am moderately economically left, and moderately socially progressive. None of the parties completely align with my particular ideologies, but I can say that – of the parties that actually have seats in the house – I align least with the CPC. This does not make me partisan.
