This is completely misleading!
Farage supporting the nationalisation of steel isn’t a contradiction — it’s a recognition of reality!
Thatcher operated in a very different economic climate. Today, with global markets stacked against us and vital industries on the brink, bold action is needed to protect British jobs and safeguard our economic future.
Farage isn’t stuck in the “past” he’s responding to the crisis we face now.
Reform very well understands that strategic industries like steel are essential to our national security and economic independence.
Labour, on the other hand, has had countless opportunities in government and in opposition to stand up for British steel, and they failed every time. They outsourced, privatised, and pandered to global interests while communities crumbled and jobs disappeared.
Just look at Port Talbot, when the plant faced closure in 2016. Labour offered speeches and sympathy but no serious plan to secure the long-term future of steelmaking in Wales. Thousands of livelihoods were left hanging in the balance, and nothing meaningful was done.
Now they claim to be “fighting” for steel. But where were they when it really mattered? It’s only since Reform started applying pressure that they’ve scrambled to appear interested.
Talk is cheap, action matters. Reform is the only party forcing real change — not to score political points, but to protect Britain’s future!

Last night, I spoke to
@GBNEWS about today’s emergency debate on Scunthorpe steelworks.
Farage now says he wants to nationalise steel – yet proudly calls himself a son of Thatcher, who sold it off.
Labour doesn’t just talk about backing British Steel. We’re fighting for it.
