Sanderling migration is still happening too, with birds pausing on west coast beaches, on their way to Greenland.

Our Ringed Plovers may have chicks but their cousins that spent the winter in East Africa will only just be arriving in NE Russia.
Check out their migration!

Good luck, also, to everyone protecting beach-nesting Ringed Plovers, Oystercatchers and terns.
With a bank-holiday heatwave, you're going to have lots of people to talk to!

As #WaderWeek draws to a close we would like to remind everyone of the importance of keeping dogs on leads during the spring months to help protect ground-nesting birds while they rear their young. Together, we can do our bit for these magnificent wader species!
This #WaderWeek, we are again highlighting the Nest Camera Project, which documents wader nest outcomes. We've had some very interesting records and contributed to wider academic projects. Get in touch to take part! 👇 @BTO_Scotland@RSPBScotland@scottishfarmer@DavyMcCracken
Today marks the beginning of #WaderWeek!
Thanks to the ongoing efforts of land managers throughout the country, these remarkable species are being given the support they need to thrive.
Please give ground-nesting birds space and respect during this crucial time of year.
To round off #waderweek we have part 2 in our Thrill of the Hill wader series, where @ForWaders Patrick Laurie and RSPB's Stephen Field talk about the importance of wading birds, predator control and promoting landscape scale conservation efforts.

Many wading birds are now priority birds for conservation action in the UK. How can farmers help them? FAS has a range of resources to help you manage these species on your farm, including podcasts, guides and a management calendar. #waderweek@ForWadersfas.scot/environment/biodive…
