Morning Devotion – Matthew 5:5
Scripture:
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
— Matthew
Reflection
In a world that often celebrates power, status, and self-promotion, Jesus teaches something very different. He says that those who are meek are blessed.
Meekness is not weakness. It is strength under control. A meek person trusts God enough not to force their own way. They remain humble, teachable, patient, and respectful even when faced with challenges.
Jesus promises that the meek will inherit the earth. This reminds us that God’s rewards are not always immediate, but they are certain. When we choose humility over pride and trust over self-reliance, God works on our behalf and leads us into His blessings.
Today, ask yourself: Am I allowing God to guide my reactions, decisions, and relationships? True strength is found in surrendering to God’s will.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me that true greatness comes through humility. Help me to walk in meekness today, trusting You in every situation. Teach me to be patient, gentle, and obedient to Your voice. When I am tempted to act out of pride or frustration, give me the wisdom to respond with grace. May my life reflect the character of Christ, and may I trust Your promises for my future.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Today’s Encouragement
