Advanced lifter logic: "I've been training for 10 years so I need": - 30 sets per session - 4 different exercises per body part - Advanced periodisation - Deload weeks calculated by moon phase - Pre-exhaust supersets - Post-exhaust dropsets - Intra-workout carbs - 3-hour sessions What actually works for advanced lifters: - 12 heavy sets per session - 2-3 sets per body part - Progressive overload when possible - Rest until fully recovered - Enough protein You're not advanced because you do more complicated things. You're advanced because you've been consistently doing simple things for years. The lad who's done 2 sets of shoulder press twice per week for 8 years has better shoulders than the programme-hopper doing 10-exercise push days with periodised undulating waveloading.
