Between Reigns
The Photography of JDB
Each of the four seasons is granted their reign over the kingdom by Mother Nature.
Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter are deeply protective of their time, holding their covenant with great seriousness. Each believes their season to be the greatest of all.
They strive to impress their mother, presenting their own version of perfected beauty. The sibling rivalry between them runs strong.
Yet there is a brief moment—often overlooked—where something greater than pride takes hold.
When the transition of seasons begins, it becomes possible to witness them set their pride aside, tending carefully to the passing of the crown.
In that overlap, they do not compete.
They cooperate.
And as the crown is passed, Mother Nature lingers in that moment—
for it is not in their individual reigns that she sees perfection,
but in the brief harmony where they become one continuous whole.

As winter gradually loosens its grip, the @qatarweather announces the arrival of “Saad Al Bula”, beginning February 23, 2026, and continuing for 13 days.
Recognised as the last of the winter stars and the second phase of the Scorpio season, Saad Al Bula marks a key transitional period in #Qatar seasonal calendar. While it signals the approach of spring, it is often associated with the season’s final cold wave, locally known as Bard Al Ajouz.
The period may bring active winds and opportunities for scattered rainfall, reflecting the natural shift between seasons , a reminder of the region’s deep-rooted astronomical and climatic traditions that continue to guide weather patterns across the Gulf.

Yuzu Pot.
In mid-February Kyoto, as plum blossoms awaken, charcoal-grilled fugu milt rests inside a fragrant yuzu shell. Steam rises, citrus unfolds, sweetness lingers. A quiet meeting of winter and spring at Yano.

Blossoms That Transcend Seasons
Some blooms don’t just bloom—they dazzle the days, sweeten the years, and paint the fleeting time with grace.
Winter’s chill is but a prelude. If winter has arrived, can spring be far behind? Let the frost pave the way for the riot of blossoms waiting around the corner.

Mixing patterns and materials to create the perfect balance for a winter-to-spring outfit 🖤☕️ save for later inspo.
IMO of why this works 👇🏼
• Mixing patterns: the dainty and small dots are complimented with big and bold stripes while staying in the same color palette.
• Mixing materials: the thick heaviness of the sweater feels lighter because of the soft satin of the skirt.
• Chunky boots: bring a casualness and edge to the skirt and sweater.
• Red purse: a solid pop of color to draw your eye to something ❤️

Winter is finally thinning out.
I can’t wait for full-fledged sunshine, its warmth, and that crisp breath of fresh air.☀️
And of course, finally slaying in all my L.S. gowns that the cold didn’t let me flex🤭
