Mark's take on this news:
@Infineon is basically saying that the broader
#chip market looks sleepy, but AI data centers are lighting up its power business, even as Q1 revenue slid seasonally to €3.662 billion with a 17.9 percent Segment Result Margin. Management is pulling investment spend forward to €2.7 billion because the real bottleneck in AI is no longer compute, it is power delivery and capacity.
CEO
#JochenHanebeck is betting the timing is perfect, with the new
#SmartPowerFab opening this summer and more manufacturing buildout aimed straight at hyperscale demand.
The company is guiding to about €3.8 billion revenue in Q2, and they are openly modeling AI data center power supply revenue jumping from about €1.5 billion in FY 2026 to about €2.5 billion in FY 2027.
Also worth noting, the outlook excludes the planned sensor portfolio acquisition from
#amsOSRAM, so there is still extra upside and extra integration risk sitting off to the side. Not a bad way to start 2026.
