"Industry has become more efficient." I'd love to see the evidence for this rather than all the overwhelming evidence that heavy industry is closing down in the UK.

No it’s been closing down as a result of our bonkers energy policy.

There are billions left and as Norway has proven there is more to be found. The UK should be drilling up to the same level as Norway if not more. Remove the restrictions, get the economy moving then the damage caused by the renewable surge will be less felt

"...little left of commercial value..." Acording to OEUK: £150 Billion in proven potential, £165 Billion Near term and up to to £1 Trillion in total potential. So very valuable and would generate £billions in revenue for UK.

Let me fix it. Imports come from Norway or the US. It doesn't even make your point to include domestic sources. Battery storage is a dream. Clearly you can't see beyond your own ideology.

If you think wind energy is cheap you are not a fucking scientist you are a dupe. Why don't you review what Germany's electricity rates have done since they added all of this cheap energy. I honestly don't understand how people can be this stupid.

Wind is indeed free but the energy generated is not cheap - it’s more expensive than oil and gas.

So how come electricity prices in France are so much lower than in Germany? Shouldn't it be the other way around with your 'free' wind.

🚨Paper Alert🚨 After 4(!!!) years of revisions, the amazing @KetiCohen & team pushed out this beauty💪 Unlike what the textbooks say, V1 binocularity is not fixed: at high arousal, binocularity decreases while the strength of peripheral vision increases. nature.com/articles/s41467-0…

Here’s some facts for you When weather dependent wind and solar are only operating at 15% & 16.5% of capacity during the last 90 days in high demand winter it means they are not fit for purpose & are a complete waste of money app.electricitymaps.com/map/…

People like you now need to be told to F off. Our situation is perilous. Net zero is destroying the uk. We tolerated the chattering class virtue signallers who can afford all these excesses for too long. And if you really think green energy will lower your bills, it never will.

How are wind and solar secure when they depend on the vagaries of the weather ?

They can force American companies to comply. And you can't download OpenAI or Anthropic. You can download lots of Chinese open source models though. Ask @alexfinn what he has running locally on his Mac Studios ($10,000 each no less).
