That’s related to BSON aka binary representation storage. Mongo add that keyword. It would be great to encourage Mongo to update to what is current. Draft-4 is over SEVEN years old. Draft 2019-09 has a standardised approach to extensibility. OAS 3.1 has 2019-09 baked in now.
