The soggy eggboxes were worth it for a NFY Dark Chestnut, accompanied by 2 Feathered Thorns, Red & Yellow-line Quakers and 5 R-g Carpet. @pmandrews1973@BCWarwickshire
Shooting from the hip: have you considered a van? Maybe put out a couple of Livestreams to raise funds. Can soundproof it fairly cheaply (eggboxes if necessary!) and turn it into a mobile recording studio. Potential for doing 'road shows' / travelling UK.
I've quoted you @LallyMacBeth very interesting to hear how long you have been advocating for Ithell Colquhoun's work - more power to the eggboxes! megalithic.co.uk/modules.php…
I found this rather spectacular beetle hiding under my eggboxes where I’d left them to dry in the utility room of our holiday house. Seems to be a ground beetle, Carabus problematicus, about 3cm long & with lovely violet iridescence.
The Gem record total last night was smashed with 11 in the actinic and 5 in the MV (16 in total) in the Littlestone garden!
Radfords Flame Shoulder on #mothplank , 3 Scarce Bordered Straws, 30 ferrugalis with Red Green Carpet new for the year
Soggy eggboxes…
Littlestone garden moth traps
Caught 5 Gem last night (only ever caught 1-2 in a night before)
Highest total of ferrugalis (Rusty Dot Pearl) this year 24
First vitrealis (Olive-tree Pearl) for 20 days
11 Delicate and 1 noctuella (Rush Veneer)

‘The Wisdom of Esperia’ as coined by @ivysuckle That’s been my experience too, a dry evening following a wet day is usually very poor for trapping; rain during the night is fine for the moths but less so for eggboxes!
I do NOT want to see any of this 'Britain in the midst of a heatwave due to the #ClimateCrisis which is happening because all you selfish useless humans drove cars and forgot to recycle your eggboxes', now that it's getting drier and warmer.
It is SUMMER, that's all.
These were called 'The Eggboxes' by us (the kids) at our school, even the teaching staff eventually relented, and lessons on the timetable in the rooms of these were labelled as such.
Eggbox 1, Room 2 etc...
New modifications to the Frankentrap inc reinforcements to the bulb platform & slots w/ aluminium wire & tape; tinfoil on the funnel to cover gaps; new actinic bulb; more eggboxes (courtesy of my gf's bro who works at farm). W/ the good weather tonight, expecting 1000s of #moths.
Tonight I am trying out my newly-made #MothTrap that will replace my old one (which has fallen apart many times). It is made out of foam board which is cheap and durable, and hopefully it won't blow away in tonight's wind.
