Between 26–30 January, Strategies for Northern Development (SND) participated in an intensive, hands-on training on data collection, data management, and geospatial mapping using QGIS.
The training was facilitated by MapAction, organized by the
@KenyaAsal and hosted at
@oxfamkenya offices in Nairobi.
The sessions brought together AHN member organizations and focused on practical application, including survey design, structured data collection, data management workflows, and geospatial analysis. Through guided QGIS exercises, participants strengthened their ability to visualize data, produce maps, and translate field data into actionable insights to support evidence-based decision-making in humanitarian and development programming.
For SND, the training directly contributes to improved data quality, stronger spatial analysis, and more informed planning and reporting, enhancing our capacity to design, monitor, and communicate impact across our interventions.
We appreciate the facilitators and peer organizations for the collaborative learning environment, shared expertise, and practical knowledge exchange.
