The good news from the
$SPCX IPO for space fans is now SpaceX has the capital ($75 billion) to build the datacenter in orbit project, finish out starlink, and build othe rorbital infrastructure to make logisitics work.
That will enable SpaceX to fund a lunar manufacturing system to make more satellites.
The engine of economics has finally hit space and we are going to see a rapid improvement of the space economy in the next 10 years.
And that means more trips to space, more astronauts, more lunar landing, and eventually Mars and other worlds.
The government is about to be dwarfed by private enterprise, and that will expand access to everyone.
If AI maintains its demand for datacenters, there is now a clear thoughline from that demand to orbital industries where the product is data.
Once we have economic value of being in space with no known limit there will be demand to build more in space and that will lead to using resources outside of earth. From lunar manufacturing to astroid mining, space industry is about to diversify. But such manufacturing requires other components, it requires maintenance and that means robotics and humans delevered to these far flung locations. And that means logistics to keep humans alive and healthy. And those system can be used to host tourists.
Its going to start to build off each other and expand exponentially.
I don't care if you hate, love or are indifferent to AI, if you love space and the possibilities of exploring it; then you should love the money being poured into AI because its going to boostrap the space exonomy into the next stage.
A stage where booking a flight to the moon or a newly built orbital colony can be done on your phone in a few clicks.
