SFC is pushing to expand their homeless day services on the 2300 block of Curtis St.
In a recent email to neighbors, CEO Nancy Burke said they want to “update the data center on the B side of the building so we can occupy this space for our operations… for office or programming space.”
But the official permit tells a different story: Permit 2026-COMMCON-0000761 says Northeast half changing from B (Business - data center) to S-1 (Moderate Hazard Storage).
Storage (S-1) has much different fire, safety, and occupancy rules than active office or programming space (which is under B). So why does the permit say one thing while the CEO tells neighbors another?
@DenverCPD — can you look into this discrepancy?
On top of that, one of Nancy’s emails shows clear hesitation about partnering with neighbors. She cites CORA requests, posts on DBD and fears of “negative social media” as reasons she’s slow to respond and needs legal review.
Neighbors have every right to file CORAs and demand transparency. SFC receives millions in taxpayer-funded city contracts. When an organization takes public dollars and wants to expand operations in neighborhoods, accountability isn’t harassment: it’s basic oversight.
Public money = Public records. Denver deserves straight answers and accurate permits that match actual planned uses.

🚨 22-year-old Kaylen Stroter has been arrested for the homicide at 32nd and Lawrence in Denver.
His criminal record escalated quickly:
- November 2023 – Sterling Home Invasion Robbery:
Stroter, then 20, and two others forced their way into a home in the 100 block of Hamilton Street. Armed and masked, they assaulted a victim, stole items, and fled.
Charged with: aggravated robbery, first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, menacing, theft, and a weapons charge for a large capacity magazine.
Nearly all charges were pled down or dismissed. He received 36 months probation for the burglary.
- May 2025: Arrested for assault, child neglect, child abuse, and resisting arrest.
Now he’s facing homicide charges.
Why does the system keep releasing violent repeat offenders, giving them chance after chance, while Denver neighborhoods suffer the consequences?
