I don't have any problem with how Finn lost to Kylo. That's what should've realistically happened with Rey as well.
With hindsight, it was better to never have hinted that Finn could be forcesensitive at all, if nothing was done with it later.

I think I have said this before but: Jedi finds forcesensitive kid. Parent (singular) is like "no they are all I have. You can't take them.". Jedi is like okay but I will check in every now and then to help. Jedi and Parent fall in love.
