From the inspiring welcome address by our Executive Director, Prince Gideon Olanrewaju (
@LanreShaper ), highlighting the significant strides of the SCALE initiative, to the launch of '
CarbonTrac.AI' and other impactful resources like the 'NetZero' course and the 26 episodes podcast series - GreenBytes Wednesdays, our recently concluded High-Level Technical Workshop underscores our commitment to developing practical tools that drive sustainability.
As we reflect on this event, we are grateful to have had the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) represented by Idongesit Udoh, Digital Access Program Adviser & Country Lead. He emphasized the critical role of global collaboration in achieving sustainability goals.
This message was further reinforced by Barr. Emmanuel Edet of NITDA, whose keynote on balancing digital growth with environmental responsibility sparked meaningful conversations. These discussions continued in the panel sessions, which focused on addressing e-waste, reducing technology-driven greenhouse gas emissions, and our shared responsibility in tackling these urgent challenges.
We also deeply appreciate the tremendous support from key stakeholders, including the Federal Government of Nigeria. As we were honored to have Dr. Iniobong Awe, Director of the Department of Climate Change at the Ministry of Environment, attend and contribute to the event.
The success of this workshop reaffirms the importance of ongoing collaboration to advance Nigeria’s digital and sustainability agendas.
We’re excited to see how the SCALE initiative evolves and we look forward to further progress.
