I tried to build on top of a "private compute" / TEE based project at ETHLisbon - I needed my own code, so they said I need to build a container for it - I did, then they said I cannot run it because it is weekend and one of their partners would need to do something to my contianer image for it to work (but they do not work over weekend). So I asked whether I can just document everything and build the rest - and mock the container execution - and still be eligible for bounty, they said yes.
After reading most of their docs, I could not figure out one API call, so I came to ask again, one dude sent me to another and another...the last one said he'll check and I should come back in 15 mins. So I did and he said he could not find it, but it is there and I should read the documentation before I come asking...
Eventually I did not get a bounty from them, but I heard from one guy from their team that most of the team wanted me to win, but that one guy who couldn't find the API call doc pushed hard to disqualify me, because "my code did not work":D
Learning: Just be ok saying "I don't know" or "yeah, this part of our project does not work" as a hackathong sponsor or mentor - rather than lying and giving false hopes:-) It's ok if shit breaks or you just don't have answers:-)
