🇬🇷🇪🇸La cooperación bilateral en la industria de defensa entre España y Grecia se ha consolidado en la jornada Greece–Spain Defense Industry Day, organizada por @ICEX junto a @TedaeEs y celebrada ayer, como una plataforma estratégica que ha reunido a 28 empresas en encuentros de #networking y reuniones B2B, orientadas a generar alianzas y nuevas oportunidades de negocio. 🤝 ICEX y la Asociación Española de Empresas Tecnológicas de Defensa, Aeronáutica y Espacio (TEDAE) han organizado este encuentro con el objetivo de reforzar la cooperación bilateral entre España y Grecia en la industria de #defensa. 🇬🇷⚓️Greek Shipyards Rise Again: Revitalising national industry to deliver advanced warships for the Hellenic Navy and allied fleets. Greece’s leading defence and shipbuilding associations-the Hellenic Shipyards Association and the Hellenic Aerospace, Security & Defence Industries Association (HASDIG)-have jointly unveiled an ambitious national initiative to construct naval platforms in Greece under the European SAFE defence mechanism. The proposal reflects a unified effort of Greece’s shipyards, defence manufacturers, and European partners to meet the needs of the Hellenic Navy, as well as other allied and third-country navies. Panos Xenokostas, President of the Hellenic Shipyards Association, highlighted the impressive competitiveness of Greek shipyards, particularly ONEX Elefsis and Syros, asserting that: “We can build any type of warship- from OPVs and gunboats to corvettes and frigates-10–15% cheaper and 10–20% faster than any European yard.” He emphasized that Greek warship construction combines high-quality naval engineering with advanced domestically produced defence systems. The framework exists, the talent is here, and the global market recognizes the value of Greek shipbuilding. Nikos Papatsas, Vice-President of HASDIG, underlined that Greek defence companies are ready to supply up to 50% of a vessel’s weapons and electronic systems, with this share expected to rise as local production capacity and know-how continue to grow. On the government side, Defence Minister Nikos Dendias affirmed that the FDI Belharra frigates will be the last Greek Navy vessels built abroad: “The next ships of the Hellenic Navy will be built entirely in Greece.
