Union Study & Learning Log : Day 19
Yesterday we learned about U Combinator, @union_build incubator program with Cracked Labs. From February to May, 50 teams went through workshops, prototyping, and pitching, and only 10 became Union Fellows with full technical and strategic support from the Union core team.
Today’s focus is on 7 of those Fellows: Esprezzo, Ensemble, Conduct, Nativerse, Thema, Hyperweb, and Sphinx.
Esprezzo – Known for their no-code automation platform Dispatch, has been building Esprezzo Cloud, a Web3 native cloud service. With Union powering cross chain automation, they’re bridging traditional workflows with blockchain native tools.
Ensemble – Building an AI agent framework where autonomous agents can operate as trustless service providers. Union provides the rails for this emerging cross chain agent economy.
Conduct – A mobile-first Bitcoin sidechain for stablecoin payments, where users can even run nodes on their phones. Union will support them as a Day 1 partner for bridging assets like stablecoins and LSTs to the network.
Nativerse – Tackling liquidity fragmentation by creating infinite Bitcoin LSTs and a hub for Bitcoin liquidity. Union enables secure movement of these assets across ecosystems.
Thema – Developing omnichain exchange-traded products (ETP) with arbitrage-aware mechanisms. With Union cross chain support, Thema ensures efficient yield strategies and fair pricing.
Hyperweb – Bringing Web2 familiarity into Web3 with the Hyperweb VM, letting devs use TypeScript while building cross chain apps. Union connects their orchestration layer to multiple blockchains.
Sphinx – Building GCX, an onchain commodities exchange for futures and perpetuals on oil, metals, and more. Union powers rapid, secure settlement across networks.
Each of these Fellows shows how Union is not just enabling interoperability, but becoming the backbone for entirely new categories of decentralized applications.

Union Study & Learning Log : Day 18
Yesterday we explored the @union_build Foundation Grants and their first recipients Escher, Fluton, and Dextr, each tackling major challenges in staking, liquidity, and trading with Union as their backbone.
Today we looked at U Combinator, the incubator program that gave rise to many of these builders. From February to May, 50 teams entered a 9 week journey of workshops, prototyping, MVP building, and pitching. In the end, only 10 advanced to become Union Fellows, gaining direct access to the Union core team mentorship, fundraising connections, and promotional support.
What makes U Combinator powerful is its focus on real interoperability tracks like DeFi, stablecoins, automation, and market infrastructure. By leveraging Union ZK consensus verification, cross chain messaging, and support for multiple execution environments, builders can create apps that scale across any ecosystem.
So while yesterday focus was on the projects receiving grants, today was about the engine that creates the next wave. U Combinator is how Union continues to attract ambitious builders and transform them into the backbone of a cross chain, ZK powered Web3.
Tomorrow we’ll dive into the 10 projects that successfully passed U Combinator and explore what they’re building.

Hyperweb is an infrastructure or a platform where you can build and deploy full-stack blockchain applications with TypeScript.
It's a dev focused project, I'm not a dev but I'd try to explain their partnership with Union as simple as possible.
Imagine you're building a video game, you'd need different tools for different game consoles like one for Xbox, another for PlayStation and a third for PC. That would be super frustrating, right?
Now imagine if you could build the game once, in a language you already know, and it works everywhere. That's kind of what Hyperweb and Union are doing but for blockchains.
Hyperweb lets developers write smart contracts using TypeScript, a popular coding language that’s like JavaScript but safer and more organized.
While Union helps these smart contracts have seamless cross chain interactions using zk‑IBC interoperability layer.
With Hyperweb Union partnership, you can:
1. Use just TypeScript to build everything
2. Test your apps locally (on your own PC)
3. Trust that it will work safely across multiple chains
4. Not worry about learning different programming languages.
It’s like having one super tool that works in many places!

It is the first confidential, intent-centric cross-chain liquidity protocol.
It aims to solve 'the blockchain paradox' which means that blockchain ensures trust and verification but compromises user privacy through transaction traceability and allowing for MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) exploration.
Fluton aims to solve this paradox by introducing PRISM (Privacy-Preserving Intent Settlement Mechanism) to tackle confidentiality and MEV issues by using encrypted intents.
There are two types of encrypted intents:
1. Semi-confidential intents:
Only the essential information (like the amount) is encrypted to prevent MEV.
This keeps costs low but offers limited privacy.
2. Fully-confidential intents:
Here more details (like token address and target network) are encrypted for stronger privacy. This increases gas costs. Receiver addresses remain public for regulatory reasons, but critical intent data stays hidden until execution, protecting against front-running and value extraction.
Transactions are encrypted until 'execution' using Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), just a fancy name for a tech that allows for computation on encrypted data without needing to decrypt it.
This enhances user privacy, fosters a fairer trading environment and lowers adoption barriers.
Fluton is developing 2 new products;
1. Fluton hooks: helps users connect to any dApp or pool across chains, automate liquidity, optimize fees, and capture yield, all in one place.
2. An AI agent that analyses the best yield opportunities in dApps we connect to.

Participate in testnet: Use Faucet: experience the functionality of Union by billing testnet tokens at app.union.build/faucet. Can be connected to MetaMask or Keflr Wallet.
Can be tested on Union dApp: app.union.build to move tokens, send NFTs, call cross-chain smart contracts, etc. TestNet V3 offers improved account abstraction and ZK verification performance.
Activity: If you test property movement, message sending, and DeFi interaction on TestNet, you are likely to qualify for community rewards (e.g., UNION token airdrop).
Community and social activities (@union_build)
): Check for the latest updates, AMA sessions, community events. Example: 4PM UTC community call on August 12 (questions can be pre-submitted on Twitter).
