Perhaps counterintuitive, we show that thickening can occur despite ice shelf collapse where lateral stresses are high.

The first #DML21_22 group have passed their 2nd PCR tests. We leave the Quarantine hotel tomorrow morning for the 4200km long flight to NOVO ice runway in #Antarctica. Then on to Wasa, probably on Sunday.
@MAGICDML are en route to 🇿🇦 !
We'll catch up in two weeks.

We've just had PCR tests; we test again before departure to #Antarctica. With the new Covid variant there's a lot of uncertainty right now. Hopefully @MAGICDML flights will be unaffected. #DML21_22 #fieldwork
