To honor the 250th year since the signing of the "We the People" Declaration of Independence, we repurposed and reformatted the title page of
@EnclaveAcademy's "We the Thinkers about Thinking" Credo.
You'll learn about your own appetite for thinking by reading this Credo.
During microlearning modules at
@enclave_center, each section is broken up into insertions into the learning event's program:
"The Enclave Academy Nonclinical Cognitive Psychology Covenant"
Routinely Recommitting to Mission: Metacognition™
"We are ‘thinkers about thinking’ committed to improve outcomes of best effort-thinking (BET).”
Our Metacognitive Credo
Enclave Academy is a welcoming, psychologically safe secular sanctuary for the sovereign mind.
We gather here as business-minded thinker-doers to claim absolute self-agency over our cognitive narratives.
We reject the passive delegation of our intellect to technology; instead, we choose to think with AI thinkbots rather than expecting them to do our thinking for us.
Through the discipline of ThinkToThink™ Metacognition Skills Training (MST), we consciously pursue and navigate our metacognitive learning, metacognitive knowledge, and metacognitive regulation.
Together, we elevate our metacognition to higher-order thinking (HOT) into higher-order thorough thinking (HOTT), unlocking outcomes that push the boundaries of excellence in human thinkingness—with and without AI.
With intellectual curiosity, intellectual humility, and intellectual generosity, we recursively (1) think, (2) think twice, (3) think things through, (4) think things through thoroughly, and (5) think things through thoroughly together—TX5™.
Our Six Covenantal Commitments
To be read in unison to activate our awareness and protect our reflective space:
1. We Audit Our Mindsets
Before we process information, we pause to examine the lenses we wear.
We enter this space with radical curiosity, acute self-awareness, and the deliberate intent to monitor myriad ways we are learning and navigating our thinking about better-to-best thinking.
2. We Choose Our Thinking Methods
We do not stumble into high-stakes conclusions.
We intentionally select the thinking means and methods required to extract maximum value from every insight, data point, and strategic cognitive challenge.
3. We Detect and Deflect Risky Cognitive Biases
We remain fiercely alert to risky cognitive biases. We guard our minds against intellectual laziness, complacency, and shortcuts, choosing instead the rigorous path of objective clarity.
4. We Confront Fear of Thinking (Phronemophobia)
We acknowledge that deeper, wider, and higher thinking takes effort, and we boldly face the discomfort of cognitive friction. We strive to conquer fear of thinking, and pledge to seek professional support when we think it's necessary.
In the face of complex AI advancement, we do not shrink; we step up our mental thinking about thinking competencies.
5. We Bet on Our BET
We recognize that Human best effort-thinking (BET) is our ultimate competitive advantage.
We commit to the Academy’s microlearning modularity that sharpens this edge, ensuring our human intellect remains sharp, agentic, and irreplaceable.
6. We Embrace the Co-Thinking Evolution
We step confidently into the human-AI co-thinking world as master orchestrators.
We treat top-ranked thinkbots and other AI tools as cognitive mirrors and collaborative sparring partners, letting their nudges sharpen our own metacognitive competencies.
The Shared Promise
ThinkToThink™. | You be the nudge.™
In this thinking space, we push, pull, tug, and otherwise nudgeone another to pause, reflect, and optimize “thinking about thinking.”
From the brain’s (a) wordless visual thinkings through the mind’s liminal (b) wordish thoughtings into (c) worded crystalized thoughts, we embrace the Academy’s notion of thoughtingness as “metacognition’s messy middle,” liminality’s often short-circuited phase before thoughtness yields best effort-thinking’s better-to-best thoughts.
Here at
@enclave_center and elsewhere, we celebrate and promulgate the unique voices and choices of our individual and collective thinkingness, knowing that when we elevate our personal standards, we elevate the thinking of our entire community.
Mastering metacognition works—with and without AI.
Keep calm and think on.™ | Come to think of it.™
“Underthinking is a greater risk than overthinking. Not thinking at all about thinking is the greatest risk.” —John R. Dallas, Jr.
