You are correct in that I was a mentor at @mvoceanhack and I did have conversations about shoreline mapping with participants, and specifically used CoastSat as an example in these discussions. It may be that the discussions resulted in something similar, but the work presented above is my own. I hope that helped provide some context :)

He has been doing the research for atleast a few years. If anything Oxiqa should give credit to him 🀣

Shorelines from #CoastSat showing the magnitude and orientation of seasonal changes to an uninhabited coral reef island in the #Maldives. These changes are caused by an oscillation in wave direction of approx. 70Β° throughout the year.

Interesting Dr.. I saw something very similar presented by @oxiqamv’s team at @mvoceanhack by @MoEnvmv where you were a mentor. Oxiqa’s MVP addressed coastal erosion and flooding with an integrated Coastal Zone Management Application. Lets ensure credit is given where it’s due?
I recently presented this to show the need for frequent #coastal #monitoring of #islands in #Maldives. Seasonal #shoreline oscillation and #IOD / #ENSO influenced patterns must be distinguished to find ongoing #erosion and make better informed #coastalmanagement decisions. #EarthObservation is a very convenient and relatively cost-effective way to gather this #data, if sufficient resources are allocated to develop this capacity. #Copernicus #Sentinel2
