Which one should I get for some small quantity of daily driving and certainly some offroading a bit in rural parts of Texas and Florida? Half way considering a k5 blazer, but never driven one before.

Yes! The egg-shaped vehicles are efficient but have no character. If you ask an ICE person the difference between models they can only name the brand. Boxy SUVs sell and haul more boxes/containers which helps in moving. Don't forget the R2 has great offroading capability for the price. I get a feeling Rivian has future updates coming but lately they are few and far between. Hoping PR can push out more info about a schedule for updates and when they hit. Agreed on the handles... it's very helpful for ADA to have that leverage to safely enter and exit a vehicle.

Thankfully it's always been low speed and my van is used as an offroading skip. They just look very sheepish about it, which is fun.

Looks like copy and paste. Rivian might want to lower R2 suggested tire rotation mileage initially to be safe (7k?) and then adjust R2 rotation mileage accordingly. I know they test R2 but the 9k tire rotation makes me pause for both vehicles. For example, the R1 pirelli scorpion all terrain tires are sometimes replaced before the 9k mile scheduled rotation with heavy offroading. The lighter gvwr R2 with BF Goodrich AT seems to have a higher ratings for temp and hardness which makes me think it has a better chance of reaching 9k vs the pirelli all season which has a lower treadwear grade.

Right now, I've mounted the mini in the RV's roof vent. I didn't have time to mount it to the roof before we left on vacation. Going down the road, we have streaming TV and all the internet service we need. I've had a bit of a dilemma with it, though. Part of RVing and offroading is getting away from phones/tech.
